Judas: Heaven of Hell?

We all know who Judas is.  He’s the man who betrayed Jesus.  Traded him off for some money.  As a result Jesus was crucified.  So Judas is a bad man right?  He is probably rotting in Hell right now right?  Not necessarily.

First off if your wondering what this has to do with anything then may I inform you now.  As with the post I wrote before concerning Adam and Eve this is just as well just for a little fun.  Get off topic and talk about some different things that I think may have happened contrary to what you may think.

So what exactly did happen to Judas then?  I’d say that growing up in Sunday School or just going to Church in general most people who probably have the thought that Judas was a very very bad person and most definitely went to Hell.  But I beg to differ and here is why.

We all know Judas turn Jesus in.  But why?  Well let’s look at what happens.  Jesus is crucified.  He makes the ultimate sacrifice.  All those prophecies that were foretold in the Old Testament came true because of Judas.  I firmly believe that each and every person has a destiny.  God has a plan for everybody.  I believe that this was Judas’ destiny.  It was God’s plan for Judas.

But there would have to be more.  Judas couldn’t possibly get a free ride into Heaven for helping Jesus get crucified that would go against a lot of things in the Bible right?  Yes and there is more.

You see when Judas finally realized what he had done he returned to the people that he turned Jesus in to and threw the money back at them.  He had saw that what he had done was a terrible thing and in my opinion repented.

Jesus said that the only way to get to the Father was through him.  Judas clearly believed in Jesus and I believe that at that moment he set his beliefs in stone.

But there is one last part to this story.  After Judas returns the money and leaves and hangs himself.  Now for a very long time I could have sworn that somewhere in the Bible there was mentioning that killing yourself was basically a one way ticket to Hell.  But for the past year I’ve tried to find it and could not.  And so I can say no where in the Bible have I seen this said.

So going off that I believe that Judas did not go to Hell.  So if he didn’t go to Hell he went to Heaven right?  No.  This may be confusing but hear me out.  I believe, based on verses in Revelation,  that there is no one but God, Jesus, Angels and if I recall correctly a few people that scripture mentions being taken directly up to Heaven in Heaven right now.

Now this again is a whole different topic that I will go into at a later date but let me finish with Judas.  So I think that Judas is in a place that we know of as Purgatory.  An in between place where the dead sleep until Judgment Day.

So what should we think about Judas then?  I believe that he will end up going to Heaven.  I also think that Judas, although having done a very terrible thing, was actually a good person.  I mean if it wasn’t for him it would have had to have been someone else to turn Jesus in.  Someone had to take the blame and Judas did.
